ILLINOIS’ DEADBEATS MOST WANTED LIST
Almost everyone is familiar with “Most Wanted List”. Were you aware that the State of Illinois has a “Deadbeats Most Wanted List”? What’s a deadbeat one may ask? Illinois defines a deadbeat as an individual who is in arrears in their child support obligation under an Illinois court order or administrative order. See 305 ILCS 5/12-12.1. A delinquent parent may appear on the list if they owe more than $5,000.00 in past due child support payments. The list will include the delinquent parent’s name and address, amount of the child support arrears, and any other information deemed appropriate by the department. The list is viewable by the public. To see a list and photograph of some delinquent parents visit illinois.gov/hfs/ChildSupport/delinquent.
